MANOTICK, ON – The Manotick Mariners kicked off the conference final against their conference rivals, the North Dundas Rockets, this past weekend, and it was a tale of highs and lows for the hometown squad.

Game 1 – Saturday at Fred Barrett Arena
The Mariners set the tone with a dominant 4-0 victory at home. Former Rocket Brett Gustavsen made quite the statement, netting a hat trick against his old team and claiming first star honors. Goaltender Berk Berkeliev was sensational between the pipes, earning the shutout and keeping the Rockets off the scoreboard.
Game 2 – Sunday in Chesterville
The Rockets responded in Game 2, handing the Mariners a 6-3 loss on their home ice. Despite the setback, the Mariners showed flashes of their offensive skill, but defensive lapses allowed North Dundas to even the series. With the series now tied 1-1, it’s clear that the rivalry is heating up and every shift will count in the coming games.
Looking Ahead – Game 3 & 4
The series continues this weekend, with the Mariners looking to regain their momentum. Game 3 will be back in Manotick on Saturday at 7:30 PM, giving fans a chance to cheer on their team at home. The action then shifts to Chesterville for Game 4 on Sunday, where the Mariners will aim to steal a win on the road.
With the series tied and two games this weekend, the battle between the Mariners and Rockets is far from over.
